Our division is comprised of four departments:
- Advancement Services & Operations is the administrative and technology support unit for all Advancement activities
- Alumni Engagement provides programs, services, and engagement to over 350,000 York alumni worldwide
- Development leads efforts to promote and secure philanthropic support from alumni, donors, friends, corporations, and foundations
- Advancement Communications & Marketing works to promote and communicate alumni and donor messages along with direct marketing services for alumni and donor engagement Prospect Research and Analytics (a unit within Advancement Services & Operations) provides integral insight, strategy and support to the fundraising efforts of the University.
The incumbent is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing a transparent prospect management program at York University driven by innovative analytics that ensures the use of best practices, and the maximum potential of the University’s prospect pool. The incumbent partners with fundraising leaders to evaluate progress across programs and with individual prospects, and facilitates communication and management for work with prospects across institutional programs, faculties, and divisions. Using best practices in data analytics, modelling and reporting, the Director, Prospect Research and Analytics plays a critical role in managing and analysing program, faculty, division, and individual prospect portfolios, leading to the analysis, assessment, and ongoing growth of the University’s overall pipeline. The incumbent is a member of the overall management team of Advancement Services & Operations and will work collaboratively to discuss and review the overall strategic direction and planning on core central advancement support functions.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Minimum Requirement: Undergraduate Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. A minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in: prospect strategy, Prospect Management and Research management. Experience with accountability for information management and data analytics using a large complex database.
Experience with donor strategy development, implementation, and evaluation professional experience in analytical, research, or information specialist role preferably in a higher education setting. Experience in managing a staff of prospect researchers in support of fundraising and alumni relations activities. Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a leading role managing a team in a fundraising context. Management experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
