This is a temporary replacement position for a bargaining unit employee. Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.

Georgian College’s Advancement and Alumni Relations department creates and maintains strong relationships with a variety of constituents to inspire support and engagement.  The department is organized into four integrated units: Philanthropy; Engagement, Partnerships; and Donor Relations and Operations.

Under the direction of the Associate Director, Donor Relations and Operations and guided by the college’s strategic plan and the department’s strategic priorities and operating plan, the Donor Engagement Officer works closely with alumni, donors, staff, faculty members, students, and volunteers to advance the donor relations and stewardship initiatives of the college. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining inspiring donor engagement initiatives and communications that engage donors with the work of the College
  • Facilitating and coordinating donor recognition and engagement programs and initiatives
  • Creating and producing compelling donor impact reports and other stewardship focused communications
  • Monitoring and executing Georgian’s stewardship plan and ensuring it is effectively operationalized and routinely measured for effectiveness and value
  • Overseeing the development of customized stewardship plans for major gift donors
  • Project managing the annual endowment reporting process
  • Facilitating the creation and execution of major gift agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Working closely with Financial Aid and Awards Office to ensure that awards, bursaries and scholarships are granted in accordance to established criteria.

Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed a three-year postsecondary diploma/degree in fundraising, resource development, event management or another related field
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in an advancement related field
  • Experience working in events, donor relations and/or stewardship considered an asset
  • Experience working in the postsecondary environment considered an asset
  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT or other fundraising databases considered an asset
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, coordinating and time management skills
  • Proven ability to use good judgment and diplomacy while problem solving
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral) and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, evenings and weekends, on occasion
  • Ability to travel to other campuses or local community meetings and events on occasion
