We offer housing options, health and well-being support, training and skills development, and ongoing care once youth move into the community.
As a primary self-funded agency we raise 75% of our $40 million annual operating budget.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Events Manager, the incumbent will serve as a central support to the Events team to ensure that Covenant House Toronto events are executed seamlessly. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and is customer service driven. They must possess solid oral and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. This person is collaborative, self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about the cause. Key responsibilities pertaining to this role include:

Providing Event/Program Execution/Support:
o Recruit/train/steward schools to coordinate a “Sleep Out” or other fundraising events
o Act as a Liaison for the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI)
o Oversees and supports the majority of 3rd party fundraisers
o Support the solicitation of celebrities
o Develop event websites and pledge pages for signature events and high performing 3rd party fundraisers
o Assists in the development and execution of event related resources, forms, signage
o Fulfill post event prizing/payments/thank yous
o Conducts tours and attends cheque presentations as assigned
o Manages event suppliers and maintain current contact list

Program Tracking and Reporting:
o Tracks event participant information, sales and completes invoicing
o Prepares all event related donations and assigns proper codes
o Keeps Raiser’s Edge database up to date by inputting & maintaining special events notes/actions

Planning and Budgeting
o Develop, and execute annual plans/strategies/tactics related to specific event/programs
o Support the development of specific annual budgets
o Responsible for management of specific budget lines within certain events
o Conducts research and makes recommendations for appropriate potential sponsors, opportunities for program enhancement, and opportunities for 3rd party participation

Volunteer Management:
o Create job descriptions for, recruits and trains event day volunteers
o Recognize & thank all volunteers post event

Qualifications, Skills:

University/college degree or equivalent in fundraising or event management
2 years’ previous work experience preferably in a non-profit environment
Experience with the Raiser’s Edge an asset
Experience with Peer-to-Peer software an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of current event marketing strategies an asset
Knowledge of issues surrounding youth homelessness an asset
