EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The Art Gallery of Ontario is currently seeking a Regular Full-Time, Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer to join our Development team. Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, the incumbent will provide executive level administration in support of the CDO. As a primary point of contact representing the CDO, the Executive Assistant triages information of a sensitive and confidential nature with internal and external stakeholders including the Director’s Office, the AGO senior leadership team, colleagues across departments, and members of the AGO’s committees and donor and corporate partner community. The role also supports the effective administration of the AGO Foundation Board of Directors and general coordination of departmental activities on behalf of the CDO.
As a member of the Development team, this role contributes to realizing the AGO’s mission and our vision to lead global conversations from Toronto through extraordinary collections, exhibitions and programs and by reflecting the people who live here.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Three years’ experience working in an executive level office or a comparable environment.
- Direct experience in a Development office an asset.
- High degree of social intelligence, integrity, maturity and sound judgement.
- Experience effectively liaising with senior volunteers and leadership.
- Collaborative and resourceful, a proactive problem-solver and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Well-developed research and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed word processing, electronic calendaring and messaging skills.
- Intermediate level database skills, with Raisers’ Edge experience an asset.
- Experience developing and implementing office practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the workplace.
- Passion for visual art and a working knowledge of museum structure and departmental roles an asset.
