Working Hours: 35 Hours, Monday to Friday (evenings and weekends as required)

For over 20 years, Halton Food for Thought (HFFT) has been a game-changer, ensuring that students in the Halton region can access healthy, free meals and snacks at school. By collaborating with Boards of Education and the community, we support Student Nutrition Programs for kindergarten to grade 12 students. Feeding students fuels their minds and bodies, setting them up for academic success and lifelong healthy habits.

Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead HFFT into its next phase of growth and impact. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of organizational management and operations. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in nonprofit management, team development, stakeholder engagement, and financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Vision: Develop and execute strategic initiatives in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and Board priorities.
- Team and Culture Development: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence among staff and volunteers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Champion HFFT’s mission and value proposition to government entities, community stakeholders, and potential funders.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including financial management, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Board Relations: Collaborate with the Board to implement organizational strategies and ensure effective governance practices.
- Community Relations: Cultivate and maintain partnerships to enhance HFFT’s community profile and support program delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, with a track record of strategic planning, organizational development, and team management.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, fiscal oversight, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build effective relationships.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and securing funding for nonprofit initiatives.
- Knowledge of governance best practices and experience working with a Board of Directors.
- Commitment to HFFTs mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
