We are looking for values driven, result oriented team player with excellent relationship building skills and a passion for fundraising to join our Philanthropy and Financial Development team.   
Nature and Scope

The Fund Development Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of fundraising programs such as the Annual Campaign, Monthly Giving, Fundraising Events. In addition, assist in the research, preparation, submission, and reporting requirements for grant applications. 
Location: Remote working till a hybrid (office/home) flexible work arrangement is established. Office location, Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario. 
Hours of work: Full-time position, 35 hours weekly, Monday -Friday (flexible hours – may include evenings and weekends) to support events.

•Work closely with the philanthropy team in creating annual targets. 
•Identify, engage and cultivate relationships with donor prospects. 
•Create and share timely reports on progress of the YMCA’s various tactics designed to support the fundraising initiatives of the YMCA of Oakville.
•Planning and executing fundraising activities and events which include online giving. 
•Coordinate donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events from scheduling to execution.
•Work with Program leads, complete research and develop compelling content for grant proposals that meet grantor requirements.
•Complete and/or support other aspects of grant development, including grant identification and qualification, soliciting, writing, and collecting support letters; preparing figures/diagrams; and preparing grant budgets.
•Assist and supports the work of the philanthropy team including responding to general inquiries, maintaining files and supplies, preparing and assembling donor and volunteer reports, assists with coding and processing of invoices.
•Maintain grant revenue records, in coordination with Donor Relations Coordinator, in the association’s donor database platform.
•Act as an ambassador for the Association in special events and committees as required.
Essential Requirements
•Post-secondary degree or certification in related field
•Minimum 2-3 years of fundraising experience, preferably in a fundraising / charitable environment
•High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Excellent writing skills and experience working with Grants and or Request for Proposals (RFP)
•Working knowledge of digital communication and social media tools
•Experience with relationship management software / donor databases / digital giving platforms 
•High level of diplomacy, sensitivity, tact, demonstrates sound judgement and trust
•Strong attention to detail / accuracy / project management / organizational skills
•Excellent interpersonal / customer service skills
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
•Must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against covid-19 or provide valid proof of exemption on grounds that are protected under the Human Rights code  
Desirable Requirements
•Knowledge of Donor Perfect, CanadaHelps, Membership databases, considered an asset
•Knowledge of Canada Revenue guidelines with respect to fundraising and charitable gifts
•Knowledge of privacy legislation regulations
•Familiarity with Canada Revenue Agency charitable tax receipting guidelines would be an asset
