- Position: Executive Director of Project Rozana Canada
- Salary:$80,000-120,000 per annum for 5 days per week, or 4 days a week pro-rated
- Contract: Contract includes 15% in lieu of benefits plus 4 weeks annual vacation plus statutory holidays
- Location:Remote/home working including an allowance for home office expenses

We are seeking a Fundraiser/Executive Director to expand our operations in Canada. This person will be responsible for establishing key connections with stakeholders and potential supporters, in collaboration with the Project Rozana Canada Board and colleagues from the international affiliates and Boards. Core to this role will be building relationships with major donors and governments and engaging them with the impactful work that we do. This will be an exciting time to join our fast-growing, dynamic, and global team, with plenty of opportunities to think creatively and make a significant difference in building bridges between Israelis and Palestinians.
The successful candidate will work remotely. We are open to a degree of flexibility around the precise work pattern of the role and the role is offered as a full- or part-time (0.8 FTE minimum) position. You would be the sole employee in Canada.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Fundraising and Communications
- Identify and research prospective supporters, primarily in the Foundations and Major Donors sectors
- Identify potential volunteers who can assist in fundraising, and recruit them, bring them on board, train and coordinate them, in collaboration with board members
- Working with the assistance of our international team, submit applications to funding bodies, including for government funding
- Seek meetings with and canvass and steward prospective donors, inviting along Board Directors and/or senior volunteers where appropriate
- Develop a communications plan and ensure effective communications from Project Rozana Canada to supporters, prospective new donors, and the public at large, including on select major social media platforms, with main-stream media and with select interest-based media, working in close collaboration with our global colleagues
- Manage fundraising activity including recording all donations and maintaining detailed donor lists (Salesforce)
- Governance
- Create a Strategic Plan, including an overall fundraising plan, that would include introducing Project Rozana Canada to other cities in Canada, e.g., Montreal, Winnipeg, and Vancouver
- Help ensure that Project Rozana Canada meets its strategic objectives and operates effectively
- Build relationships with the global Project Rozana leadership and share best practices
- Set regular Board meetings, updating Board members between meetings, and working with them to build the charity’s reputation and fundraising relationships
- Recommend new board members, and support the Chair in on-boarding
- Ensure that Project Rozana Canada complies with all relevant charity regulations and best practices, including regarding due diligence and tax-effective giving, with support from our accounting and legal resources
- Personal Specifications
- Extensive experience in charity fundraising and/or in not-for-profit leadership
- Experience in raising major gifts, government relations and budgeting
- Comfortable presenting to groups
- A commitment to Project Rozana’s mission and the sector in which we operate
- Ability to work independently, take the initiative and work towards targets
- The ability to travel and arrange your own transportation, including visits to other cities within Canada and to Israel-Palestine. Accommodations can be explored for disabilities, care of dependents, health care and/or other personal needs at least one visit per year to visit Israel-Palestine and visits to other regions within Canada
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative connections with a variety of stakeholders, including colleagues, donors of all types and senior volunteers
- An interest in working with people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Personal qualities of emotional maturity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a roll-up-my-sleeves attitude
- Experience with fundraising platforms/databases (we use Salesforce)
- Fluency in English essential, ability to speak French, Hebrew, and/or Arabic an asset
- A current passport
