Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is Central Ontario’s largest and most advanced health centre, providing the greatest range of care to the communities we serve. Offering the area’s regional programs for cancer, heart, stroke, and child and youth mental health, RVH plays a vital role in the lives of permanent and seasonal residents in the Simcoe Muskoka region.

RVH Foundation mobilizes the community to support the world-class, life-saving work of RVH. The Foundation’s Impact Content Lead will be responsible for the sourcing and creation of clinically-accurate, donor-relevant, emotionally-rich content across multiple channels and mediums to mobilize the community to support the work of RVH. This position will also ensure that all content reflects and supports the priorities of the Foundation’s marketing and fundraising strategies, as well as the hospital’s My Care strategic plan.

Education:
• Post-secondary education in journalism, marketing, advertising/communications, or equivalent work-related experience

Experience:
• More than 5 years of progressive experience in journalism, marketing, or advertising
• Public sector experience, in particular healthcare, an asset
• Donor communications experience an asset
• Experience across multiple mediums including video, photography and writing

Responsibilities:
• Act as clinical programs and operations content liaison for the Foundation, building and maintaining deep knowledge of major clinical areas including patient care enhancements, teaching, research, and innovations
• Liaise with Foundation’s Donor Advisors and hospital clinical staff to source, validate and write gift opportunities for proposals and stewardship reports for individual and corporate donors
• Act as the point person for the Foundation staff to access clinical program and operations information from the hospital
• Develop, grow and maintain strong relationships with operations directors, medical leadership, and clinical program leads in order to source and deliver relevant content for donor communications in a timely manner
• Source and write compelling grateful patient stories/video scripts and content about clinical enhancements, innovations and updates that both meets donor interests while also illustrating the RVH My Care strategic plan in action for direct mail, newsletters and other key Foundation communication vehicles
• Design and manage the approvals process for any content related to clinical work in the health centre with relevant staff
• Provide recommendations and develop opportunities for medical leadership, clinical operations and program leads to engage with donors, where relevant and strategic
• Lead the Foundation’s content strategy for all RVH internal communications including Royal Review and RVH Everyone communications
• Co-lead the development and execution of the editorial calendar for the Foundation across all channels (website, social media, email) and multiple media (video, images, written stories) with the Manager, Donor Experience and Manager, Marketing
• Build, grow and maintain a stable of local freelance writers, videographers, designers and other co-creators, as well as overseeing and managing the freelance budget
