Title: Intermediate Giving Manager

The Intermediate Giving Manager is a results-oriented, front-line fundraiser with a portfolio of 100+ loyal and dedicated existing Intermediate Giving donors. This role is responsible to plan, design, implement, evaluate, and optimize all components of the Annual Giving program in partnership with the donor engagement team (DE) with the objective of stewarding, retaining, and upgrading a broad and diverse donor base. The successful candidate will endeavor to grow the overall portfolio, while enhancing the donor experience for individuals giving $500 – $4,999 per year, ensuring alignment and consistency in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across mail, email, phone, and other communication channels.

Key Accountabilities

Mid-level Giving (70%)

  • Directly manage a portfolio of well defined, loyal and dedicated intermediate giving donors with the general capacity to make gifts of $500-$4,999 (although not exclusively within this range) with a focus on building sustainable relationships
  • Manage this portfolio of existing prospects through the cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • From data analytics provided, ensure active pipeline of middle donors by working closely with other members of the Fund Development team to identify further giving opportunities
  • Develop a comprehensive donor stewardship plan for the long-term growth, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of monthly donors through conversion and lead generation
  • Increase overall revenue, monthly donor participation and retention for monthly giving program
    • Implement strategies to mine the database for future giving opportunities, developing individualized strategies to engage donors for the various priority fundraising programs
    • Work with the donor engagement (DE) team to develop, implement and ensure adherence to a stewardship matrix for donors within your portfolio, ensuring consistent and engaging donor journeys across all channels
    • Collaborate with the DE team to develop stewardship materials including email content, gathering of impact stories and other items where needed and ensure alignment with Children Believe brand

Direct Response Program (20%)

  • Working in collaboration with the Campaign team, grow revenue through the program including, but not limited to, strategy development, planning, and execution for acquisition, cultivation, and lapsed reactivation, including direct mail, email, online ads, and telephone
  • Assist to monitor budget as well as campaign/program performance, revenue, expenses, and return on investment. Suggest recommendations to optimize program results based on insights and analysis, segmentation reports, and giving patterns
  • Collaborate with the campaign team to develop segmentation, appeal creative development, results tracking, and reporting for all direct mail and digital appeal solicitations. Monitor, analyze, and report on appeal performance against goals

The Ideal Candidate

  • Goal-oriented. Commitment to excellence in the donor experience
  • Knowledge of, or work experience in, the international development sector
  • Knowledge of financial processes related to personal and corporate donations
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation (or working towards achieving) preferred
  • Willingness to travel when needed
  • Flexible to work in both remote and in-office working environments

Our candidate will possess:

  • University Degree or Diploma in a related field is preferred but not necessary
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing or communicating with a portfolio loyal and dedicated donors with a proven record of obtaining gifts and meeting established targets
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising database tools; research skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, diplomacy, sensitivity to confidential information, and sound judgment
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently
  • Cross cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-faith environment
  • Satisfactory current Canadian criminal record check required for successful candidates

Compensation Range

$67,000 – $80,000
