Manager, Alumni & Advancement
Reporting to the Director, Advancement & External Relations, the Manager of Alumni & Advancement is responsible for the strategic development and management of a comprehensive alumni engagement and fundraising program to include all individuals, alumni, corporations and foundations.
Major responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategies to ensure successful identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni, donors and prospects. The Manager will conduct personal and virtual visits and orchestrate the participation of influential representatives such as the President, Board of Governors, senior executives and volunteers in their efforts on behalf of the university. The Manager will also be expected to work cohesively with other External Relations department staff to design appropriate stewardship and cultivation opportunities. The Manager of Alumni & Advancement will also play a supporting role in planning and preparation for all current and future fundraising campaigns.
The Manager of Alumni & Advancement will develop strategies to promote university goals and priorities; participate in the University strategic planning process; act as key leadership support and guidance for the Alumni & Advancement team; and promote active involvement of volunteers in fundraising activities. The Manager will serve as a resource person for the tax implications of all gifts, and is responsible for RE NXT database oversight and implementation into departmental processes and procedures.
The successful candidate will have a University degree; combined with a minimum of at least five years’ experience as a professional fundraiser and two plus years’ experience in a leadership role. A fundraising management certificate and/or CFRE would be considered an asset.
