What is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Senior Director, Annual Giving, the Manager, Annual Giving develops and implements strategic fundraising plans to sustain and increase gifts from broad-based appeals to generate a reliable and sustainable revenue stream for The Royal Conservatory of Music. This role plays a key part in advancing a digitally integrated, data-driven, and donor-centric annual giving program, while proactively developing and executing both short- and long-term strategies to grow and strengthen Annual Giving initiatives.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage strategies and plans designed to meet the organization’s revenue objectives for annual giving programs, including unrestricted giving, the Dean’s Fund, The Fund for Koerner Hall, ARC Ensemble, and Koerner Hall Seat Naming Campaign.
- Develop and execute both short- and long-term strategic plans for Annual Giving programs, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Plan and execute omnichannel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, social media, and online giving platforms, ensuring a cohesive and integrated donor experience.
- Develop and implement data mining, segmentation, and predictive analytics strategies to maximize solicitation yields, deepen donor engagement, and drive personalization across all annual giving activities.
- Develop campaign and appeal concepts and craft compelling fundraising messaging for multi-channel appeals, ensuring alignment with the Conservatory’s brand and voice.
- Utilize donor CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and fundraising-specific technologies to track activity, measure campaign effectiveness, and inform strategy development.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director and program leads in other Royal Conservatory departments to develop strategies to connect with and solicit the broader RCM community.
- Develop and monitor the Annual Giving budget in collaboration with the Senior Director, Annual Giving.
- Establish and track key performance metrics, including revenue raised, donor engagement rates, donor retention and return on investment.
- Design and implement stewardship plans that combine broad-based initiatives (such as mass stewardship communications, and recognition programs) with selective personalized touchpoints to enhance the overall donor experience and encourage donor retention and upgrading.
- Meet revenue targets and manage expense budgets.
- Perform other duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in professional fundraising and development, including demonstrated experience working with and developing annual giving plans.
- Strong understanding of omnichannel fundraising and experience integrating digital and traditional tactics.
- Proven ability to develop and execute short- and long-term fundraising strategies that drive program growth, donor acquisition, retention, and revenue expansion.
- Proven ability to analyze fundraising data and use predictive analytics to inform segmentation, solicitations, and stewardship strategies.
- Exceptional written communications skills, with demonstrated experience developing compelling fundraising appeals, campaign messaging, and donor communications across multiple channels.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing donor CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred), marketing automation platforms, and online giving technologies.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

- Team-oriented, collaborative mindset with a willingness to share learning and support departmental goals.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation considered an asset.
Salary Range
- $83,000 – $88,000 per annum
Additional Information
- This role requires occasional work on evenings and weekends as required (e.g., special events).
- Hybrid work arrangement, working on-site at least 2 days a week or as necessary, inclusive of all staff Community Days.
