In collaboration with the Associate Director, CE, the incumbent will be responsible for CE fundraising and relationship management activities in Southwest Ontario, including in Oakville, Hamilton, London, Windsor, Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo [AC1] and other regions. The role will also provide additional support in the Greater Toronto Area.

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of fundraising events, projects, initiatives, and activities to meet annual revenue objectives, as outlined in the Community Engagement plans in accordance with the CRC’s policies and procedures.They will also support domestic and international emergency appeals as required while stewarding and fostering CRC expertise in philanthropy in order to inspire Canadians to give generously.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and maintains a portfolio of CE donors and partners in Ontario and represent CRC at community engagement fundraising events/cheque presentations.
  • Manage donor pipeline: Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward existing and new fundraisers in support of CRC.
  • Implement channel strategy and execute plans for each CE fundraising initiative such as Family Campaign, Year-end Campaign, and gaming and streaming initiatives.
  • Strategically involve channel leadership and senior volunteer solicitors in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of CE donors.
  • Support planning and execution of the annual Walmart Campaign across the Atlantic region, including volunteer resources, campaign resources, in-store fundraising, and stewardship .Implement strategies to meet or exceed the annual fundraising target.
  • Effectively manage donor outreach and incoming fundraising inquires in response to national and international emergency relief appeals. Ensure the implementation of CE fundraising activities during times of disaster or crisis. Support and implement all aspects of CE strategy and tactics for a particular appeal,
  • Prepare fundraising and activity reports as requested.
  • Collaborate across channels on building and executing donor integrated strategies including joint solicitations.

What we are looking for: 

  • The minimum qualifications for this job are a post-secondary education or five or more years in fundraising, event management, volunteer management, administration, marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an event leadership role and proven track record of delivering fundraising results.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal skills and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud databases an asset.
  • General knowledge and understanding of fundraising.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • A strategic and creative thinker who works proactively, and can manage competing priorities.
  • Self-directed, acts with a clear sense of ownership, and takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions, and failures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating a collaborative approach with a willingness to engage constructively with internal and external stakeholders.

Working conditions:

  • The majority of the work will be performed in a safe and clean environment.
  • Travel within Southwest Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area will be required for meetings and training purposes.
  • This position will require working non-traditional hours especially during times of disasters or appeals.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • This position requires a satisfactory Canadian criminal record reference check.
