What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Annual Giving, the Manager, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships is responsible for the development of new opportunities and prospects that meaningfully engage corporations and foundations. They will maintain an active portfolio of prospects and generate new leads as they engage and build long-term relationships through the acquisition, management and stewardship of donors and sponsors.

This role is responsible for writing proposals, developing marketing materials, identifying benefits, developing new initiatives to strengthen support, reporting, tracking and other administrative activities. Sponsorship responsibilities include securing funding in support of concert series and individual performances and special programs across the organization.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies and plans designed to meet the organization’s revenue objectives for corporate and foundation donors and prospects
  • Work independently and with the Senior Director, Annual Giving, the Executive Director, Performing Arts, and other Senior Management leaders to develop a prospect pipeline of corporate and foundation donors
  • Oversee day-to-day management of corporate and foundation partnerships, including sponsor relations, fulfillment of agreements, and the necessary administrative and marketing activities related to sponsorship
  • Utilizing an entrepreneurial approach, meet the RCM’s corporate and foundation goals and objectives by creating a partnership-driven program, in consultation with senior staff and volunteers, as well as a plan to build on the success of sponsorships for the Performing Arts Division
  • Through the effective use of prospect and moves management systems, the Manager will manage a portfolio of existing and potential partnership prospects and will build and maintain meaningful sponsorship relationships and partnerships
  • Pro-actively collaborate with internal partners (Development, program leads and RCM Marketing department) to ensure all development opportunities are maximized and fit appropriately within the overall RCM and Development goals and plans
  • Prepare and present highly effective proposals and evaluation reports
  • Assist the Senior Director, Annual Giving in supporting the Koerner Hall Committee
  • Work with institutional and Performing Arts division marketing teams to oversee the execution and implementation of all sponsorship benefit deliverables such as marketing materials; promotional and salute ads; website exposure and recognition; exterior, interior, and digital signage; social media and other similar activities
  • Develop and update funding opportunities, asset inventory, pricing strategies and benefits structure
  • Monitor funding opportunities and agreements to ensure that all sponsors and partners across the organization receive appropriate benefits, contractual obligations are fulfilled, and tracking, recognition and service quality is provided
  • In conjunction with the Senior Director, Annual Giving, develop annual fund goals each year that focus on metrics including amount raised, number of donors engaged and upgraded to higher giving levels, retention rate, actions and return on investment
  • Maximize or modify programs based on a data-driven approach, qualitative feedback, and industry best practices and emerging trends
  • Meet revenue targets and manage expense budgets
  • Participate actively as a member of the Development team
  • Performing other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record in professional fundraising and development, including demonstrated experience working with and developing corporate and foundation annual plans
  • Solid understanding of fundraising programs as they relate to and support each other
  • Proven track record of developing effective prospect pipelines and moving corporations and foundations from prospects to donors
  • Ability to analyze results and implement key learnings to create and advance strategic fundraising plans
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment, along with the ability to think strategically and to independently solve problems in a timely and creative fashion
  • Strong commitment to exceptional work quality and standards; high degree of professionalism and confidentiality, ability to set priorities and exceed budget goals, and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • A team player, willing to collaborate, share learning and insights, and support the achievement of the departments and the organization’s greater goals
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form, demonstrating tact, eloquence and an understanding of the intended recipient(s) or audience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and high degree of comfort with using a donor database for tracking prospect activity. Raiser’s Edge experience considered an asset
  • CFRE designation considered an asset

Salary Range

  • $80,000 – $90,000 per annum

Additional Information

  • Regular office hours, with the ability to support hours outside of a standard day on occasion.
  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends, attending events as a liaison as required while supporting a flexible work schedule.
