Position Details

Job Title: Manager, Development

Position Length: Permanent Full Time

Reports to: VP, Philanthropy

Direct reports: n/a

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually

Work Environment:

  • CivicAction’s work is a hybrid workplace that combines both in-office and remote work. CivicAction’s physical offices are in downtown Toronto and technology will be provided to support both in-office and remote work.
  • This position may involve some evening and weekend work.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of progressive fundraising experience with proven results in delivering successful donor development strategies within a charitable/not-for-profit sector.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that foster meaningful relationships with individual donors and corporate sponsors.
  • Experience in developing compelling engagement strategies including making in-person solicitations and securing corporate sponsorships.
  • Strong moves management skills and a demonstrated track record of delivering fundraising results.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, personable.
  • Experience with a CRM database and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of financial, legal, and regulatory requirements of a charitable organization

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive opportunities to position CivicAction and CivicAction Leadership Foundation (CLF) as a partner of choice for new individual, corporate and foundation partners.
  • Conduct research to identify top prospects and develop custom strategies to convert prospects to donors.
  • Prepare written materials including tailored proposals and grant submissions.
  • Develop impactful presentations and materials for donor and committee meetings.
  • Support the fundraising efforts of the VP Philanthropy, CEO, and key volunteers.
  • Maintain and update the donor management system including tracking, monitoring, and reporting on fundraising engagement and activities.

The Manager, Development is responsible for managing relationships with donors and partners, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Manager is a highly organized fundraiser leading cross-functional collaborations to identify, cultivate, and steward new donors and partners for CivicAction and CivicAction Leadership Foundation. The Manager, Development reports to the VP, Philanthropy.
