JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Monthly Giving & Donor Stewardship, the Monthly Giving & Donor Stewardship Specialist will lead a team responsible for Make-A-Wish® Canada’s monthly giving and stewardship strategy for the Mass Market segment. The successful candidate will support the implementation of innovative and cost-effective programs that are focused on acquiring and retaining monthly donors utilizing multi-channels to maximize revenue and donor engagement. This role will also support the content development to retain donors with impactful stewardship communications for the Mass Marketing segment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the Manager, Monthly Giving & Stewardship in the development of monthly giving & stewardship plans to maximize donor engagement and long-term value utilizing multiple channels and creating innovative campaigns.
  • Supports the development and implementation of a national mass marketing donor stewardship and communications plan with the goal of improving retention and overall donor satisfaction to maximize the lifetime value of donors.
  • Leads all operational requirements associated with monthly giving & stewardship campaigns.
  • Acts as the prime contact for donor feedback, complaints, and inquiries, and troubleshoot gift processing issues/exceptions for the monthly giving channel.
  • Support external vendor requirements including tracking results, training, reviewing call scripts, list management and Salesforce processes
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on monthly giving including channel performance
  • Processing of invoices and tracking expenses to support budget
  • Monitors external markets and continually assesses industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related post-secondary education, preferably in a Marketing or Communications Program
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with a focus on Marketing, Monthly Giving, Fundraising, or Communications preferably in the not-for-profit sector
  • Understanding of marketing, communications and direct response guiding principles
  • Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • A team player with excellent collaboration, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM environments – Salesforce is an asset
  • Advance level of proficiency in MS Office
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours
  • Occasional day/overnight travel

PHYSICAL & MENTAL EFFORT

  • Works under pressure of tight deadlines, with high volume workload, and with multiple demands, changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
