Officer, Events
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Events and Donor Experiences the Events Officer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all Oakville Hospital Foundation fundraising events and provide support to community event organizers. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with many stakeholders.
The successful candidate will demonstrate superb organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills as they are critical to the role, as are patience, analytical skills, and a passion for event planning. They will have a professional manner and the ability to shift task focus and interact tactfully and diplomatically with a wide variety of people.
- Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of foundation fundraising events
- Work with community organizations to execute third party fundraising initiatives
- Identify and cultivate new community partners
- Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, and tactics for Foundation’s events program in consultation with Associate Vice President, Events & Donor Experiences
- Responsible for the management of planning committees and event volunteers, including recruitment and training
- Responsible for the development of annual event sponsorship opportunities, including building sponsorship benefit packages and marketing decks
- Responsible for securing event sponsorship agreements in collaboration with event committees
- Facilitate the integration of sponsors into all event activities and fulfill sponsorship benefits
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing team to coordinate the development and production of event marketing materials and resources
- Plan and execute customized stewardship plans for committees, sponsors and event volunteers
- Manage supplier/vendor relationships, as they apply to the execution of each event
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an event planning role
- Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills required
- Experience working with committees, donors, senior volunteers and leadership staff
- Demonstrated relationship management skills
- Post-secondary education, or comparable combination of skills and experience
- Experience in Raisers’ Edge (RE) fundraising software and Canva Design considered an asset
- Excellent computer literacy including Internet & Microsoft Office
- Results oriented
- Ability to work both remotely and on site
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment

The Oakville Hospital Foundation offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Non-traditional hours, including evening and/or weekend commitments are sometimes required.
