Senior Campaign Officer

Reporting to the Director, Campaigns & Governance, the Senior Campaign Officer will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and monitoring of campaign activities and will be part of the broader Development Team.  Working in partnership with departments across the Foundation, the Senior Campaign Officer will be a critical support for campaign launch and success.

North York General Hospital is a leading community academic hospital serving a population of nearly 500,000 in one of Toronto’s most diverse and rapidly growing areas. The hospital provides a wide range of acute care, ambulatory, and long-term care services across seven sites. In addition to having one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the GTA and one of the highest volume single-site birthing centers in Canada, the hospital is recognized for clinical excellence including breast cancer and colorectal cancer care, family medicine, children’s mental health, palliative care, and geriatrics. NYGH also owns and operates a 192-bed long-term care (LTC) home, the Seniors’ Health Centre (SHC), which is known for leading-practice, seniors-focused care. Beyond health care delivery, NYGH is at the forefront of applied research in Canada and is a top destination for learners.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Playing a key role in the development and execution of campaign strategies with the Director, Campaigns & Governance and Chief Development Officer.
  • Managing the campaign work plan to ensure accuracy and accountability with staff to meet deadlines, objectives and goals.
  • Overseeing internal and external meeting preparation and execution, including arranging and managing meetings, drafting correspondence and related materials, preparing campaign proposals and briefing notes, taking minutes, and following up on various action items and next steps.
  • Actively participating in implementation of a Hospital Family campaign in support of a larger comprehensive goal.
  • Coordinating internal meetings to facilitate collaboration and information flow with other departments within the Foundation.
  • Working with Donor Experience, overseeing project management for campaign related events, including execution of strategy, oversight of logistics, and ensuring event goals are met.
  • Working with Business Intelligence to coordinate accurate and timely reporting for key metrics and outcomes to support strategy and decision making for both internal and external audiences.
  • Entering and tracking data in Raiser’s Edge NXT in a timely and standardized manner.
  • Liaising with campaign volunteers to provide administrative support as required.
  • Responsible for curating and maintaining an organized activity calendar to foster cohesion and productivity on events and initiatives.
  • Project management of annual business planning cycle, working with departments across the Foundation.
  • Participation and project management in organizational initiatives such as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion action plan, strategic planning or others, as appropriate.
  • Additional duties to support revenue generating, cultivation and stewardship activities as appropriate.

Skills:

  • 5+ years in related fundraising experience
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in a campaign or project coordination capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High-level attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred)
  • Experience working with a diverse group of volunteers, an asset
  • Experience in a hospital fundraising an asset

The target compensation for this role is $75,000-$90,000. We also offer an industry-leading pension plan (HOOPP), and an excellent benefits package.

Foundation staff enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model working in the Foundation office located at 4001 Leslie St with an expectation to be in the hospital offices at least 2 days per week.
