Senior Development Officer – Corporate Partnerships
Salary Range: CA$78,925.00 To 98,580.00 Annually
Location: Toronto Preferred/but to remote in Canada

As Senior Development Officer of Corporate Partnerships, the successful candidate will demonstrate passion for the cause, and a drive for excellence in relationship and account management. This role is key to delivering on key elements of NCC’s strategic plan. You will work collaboratively with colleagues right across the country, including some of the smartest minds in conservation science to generate revenue in support of NCC’s mission.

Position Summary
As the Senior Development Officer, Corporate Partnerships, you will have demonstrated expertise in understanding the needs of prospective partners and working to deliver measurable impact.
Managed by the Director, Corporate Development, you will be part of a team working with fundraising, marketing, and conservation experts to build out a sustainable corporate revenue stream in line with organization targets. You will work strategically to build cross functional account teams to cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective accounts with high-value and significant ROI potential. You will oversee a Development Coordinator, including hiring, work planning and review. This position will also work with key volunteers.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
– Supports Director in accomplishing goals of NCC Strategic Plan as set-out in the Corporate Strategy with the ultimate goal of meeting increasing revenue targets and implementing partnership programs that help build awareness of NCC impact and activies;
– Support the annual and rolling three-year planning process, defining fundraising objectives, products and workplans for corporate philanthropy.
– Stays abreast of sector developments to improve program performance
Fundraising and Relationship Management
– Acts as moves manager for corporate donors and partners and ensures robust stewardship strategies are in place with assigned actions;
– Develops solicitation materials, proposals, agreements and stewardship reports;
– Develops account strategies for corporate partners, aiming to increase investment deepen impact and deliver unrivalled partner value;
– Work collaboratively to translate organizational priorities to significant opportunities for corporate support;
– Maintain a strong network of corporate contacts;
– Maintain high standards of program delivery and high rates of partner satisfaction;
– Ensure tight integration with prospect analyst team
– Meticulous about using the organization’s CRM, Raisers’ Edge,
– Keep up to date on corporate trends within the sector and evaluate how these trends affect NCC’s fundraising capabilities;
– Other duties as assigned by the Director, Corporate Development.
Collaboration
– Collaborate with NCC fundraisers, conservation teams and subject matter experts across Canada in the design and delivery of integrated opportunities for corporate investment in support of NCC’s mission and objectives.
Position Requirements
– Post secondary educations with a focus in business, sales, marketing, fundraising or other related discipline;
– Minimum of five years of fundraising experience, preferably in corporate partnerships, corporate fundraising, major gifts, or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities
– Understanding and commitment to the vision and mission of the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
– Track record of working well within a team structure, including the enthusiasm to both lead and assist in fund raising endeavours;
– Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, leading others and managing projects;
– Exceptional donor/client communications skills;
– Strong project management skills;
– Excellent writing skills, including a demonstrated ability to generate accurately researched and persuasive proposals, business correspondence and donor acknowledgements;
– Experience with brand partnerships;
– Self-motivated, with superior time management skills and ability to work to meet deadlines;
– Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications
– Ability to read, write and communicate in French is an asset.
Hiring Process
