The Senior Development Officer (SDO), Student Success role advances the University’s mission by working directly with the AVP, Development to devise and implement a comprehensive major gift plan, that reflects the strategic priorities of and links with appropriate partners, within the Division of Students, and works in concert with the University’s Academic Plan. The SDO reports to the AVP, Development & Campaigns and provides consulting/advice on fundraising and alumni engagement to the Assistant Vice-Provost, Student Success and engages in significant collaborations with the AVP, Student Success and the Division of Students, to achieve a broad and loyal donor and alumni base. The portfolio for this role includes initiatives such as capital student services projects, student financial aid and student support programming that incorporates physical and mental health, peer mentorship, student campus employment, high school outreach and mentorship, and under-represented student demographics.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline. Qualification to complete the Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation within 3 years of start date required. Certified Fund-Raising Executive designation is preferred. Six (6) years of experience in professional fundraising, with a focus on Major Gifts and with significant exposure to stewardship and Planned Giving. University fundraising and major campaign experience is considered an asset. Proven track record of closing Major Gifts and meeting fundraising goals. Four (4) years of management experience.
