Red Door Family Shelter is currently seeking an experienced Senior Fund Development Manager to lead a very successful Fundraising Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Fundraising professional with a passion for Red Door Family Shelter’s work.

The mission of the Red Door Shelter is to end homelessness for each family that comes through our doors by providing a safe, temporary refuge and critical services to support them in healing, rebuilding their lives and integrating back into a community. Overall Responsibility
As part of the senior management team, the Senior Fund Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the fund development and communication strategy. They provide leadership to the fundraising team to ensure the fundraising department reaches its financial targets and acquires new donors.
Key Accountabilities
- Create and implement a strategic vision and resource development plan to set and achieve annual giving goals to support the Red Door Family Shelter mission and vision;
- Lead, develop and motivate a high performing team to exceed annual goals and targets;
- Provide mentorship and coaching to the fundraising team;
- Manage a diverse fundraising strategy, including third party events, peer-to-peer events, community and corporate partnerships and direct response;
- Develop and lead a media and communications strategy (social media) to build community relationships and visibility and to promote Red Door’s vision and mission;
- Build strategic partnerships that support the fundraising and communication strategy;
- Acquire new donors to strengthen donor base;
- Develop and implement appropriate donor/supporter recognition processes;
- Manage, lead and develop new major donor relationships and ensure their financial contributions;
- Develop a plan when needed to see the organization through crisis, e.g., pandemics;
- Work in partnership with the In-kind program to convert in-kind donors to financial donors;
- Assign work to the fundraising team to ensure proposals for grants and foundations are completed and submitted on time;
- And ensure all donors and receive their tax receipts in accordance with CRA, ethical and legal standards and fundraising by registered charities.
Minimum Education/General Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years in not for profit fundraising, including leadership of experience and familiarity with community and the social service sector;
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and qualifications;
- CFRE designation is considered an asset;
- Strategic thinker with a “growth” mindset;
- Ability to inspire a donor-centric philosophy;
- Highly developed people leadership and team building skills;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to build relationships with all stakeholders;
- Superior verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Highly organized with the ability to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously;
- Proven ability to develop and implement a successful fundraising and communication strategy and budget;
- Solid understanding of Canada Revenue Agency tax receipting requirements and guidelines;
- High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (WORD, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) and donor management software.
