Street Haven is a dynamic women’s multi-service agency that provides shelter, supportive housing, training supports, and addictions therapy to vulnerable women in Toronto using a feminist approach. It has the historical distinction of having established Canada’s first women’s shelter in 1968. For nearly 60 years we have been making an impact in the lives of thousands of women.

Street Haven is seeking a qualified and passionate Senior Manager, Fund Development who can be part of its high performing team and provide leadership in its fundraising efforts through relations management, fundraising planning and execution. This newly created position is a critically essential role that will be vital in Street Haven’s ongoing strategic and operational work. Senior Manager, Fund Development

The Senior Manager, Fund Development, holds the principal role of securing funds to support existing programs and new innovative services for women and the shelter. This includes major gifts, corporate sponsorship and other philanthropic funds to support Street Haven and the nearly 2,000 women served each year. The successful candidate will accomplish this alongside a small team of consultants who will support the role (i.e. grants and database).

As a member of the dynamic Management Team at Street Haven, the Senior Manager, Fund Development reports directly to the Executive Director.

What You Bring to the Role

  • 5+ years successfully raising at least $400,000 in funds annually in the non-profit sector in a like-sized organization
  • Proven fundraising success with individuals, corporations, and foundations, including securing gifts-in-kind, sponsorship for signature events, and leveraging CSR
  • Out-of-the-box thinker; creative and able to bring fresh strategies and ideas to fruition
  • Ability to effectively and passionately communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated success in securing gifts of $5,000+
  • Experience in pipeline development, prospect research, creating cases for support, and stewardship

Education

  • University degree or college diploma in Philanthropy, Fundraising Management, or a suitable combination of experience and education
