JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director, Direct Response & Innovation, the Senior Manager, Monthly Giving will have end-to-end oversight over the Monthly Giving program including product, segment, and channel strategies to grow recurring revenue. This includes working collaboratively to set Monthly Giving fundraising acquisitions and retention strategies to increase the lifetime value and to advance the Canadian Cancer Society’s mission. This includes developing data-driven strategy to pilot/test new offerings and features to drive upgrades and conversion while continuously monitoring the overall health of the Monthly Giving portfolio.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 

  • Lead the strategy and product development of monthly giving program with a focus on the priorities identified in the organization’s Strategic Framework with a long-term view to grow and diversify the recurring giving channel and segment revenue mix while supporting the wider organizational revenue goals.
  • Develop and socialize the implementation plan and lead a cross-functional team to execute a national integrated multi-channel acquisitions campaign focused on growing the monthly giving portfolio, improving retention, and winning-back and converting supporters to recurring giving.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to maximize segment, product, and channel revenue via monthly giving.
  • Develop and implement new value-exchange strategies and products offerings to increase monthly-giving digital revenue, renewal, retention, acquisition.
  • Assess new and existing channel performance  including face-to face, digital, mail, telemarketing, email, and various social media channels and scale proven growth strategies.
  • Retain monthly donors and minimize attrition through an effective donor journey, including database management.
  • Protect the brand and deliver a donor-centric experience measured through first-year retention, multi-year renewal, upgrades, satisfaction and net-promoter score.
  • Manage and oversee monthly giving onboarding experience, recurring payment processes, and fulfilling on the value-proposition to deliver donor impact updates, tax-receipting etc. (brand promise).
  • Manage the end-to-end operational processes for all recurring payments processes in compliance with the payment card industry standards.
  • Oversee the development and administration of the monthly giving operating budgets and ensure expense targets are met.
  • Oversee consultants, agencies, and channel partners to support program and campaign activities
  • Continually measure & track KPIs monthly giving segment, product and channel activities ensuring ongoing analysis, monitoring of results, evaluation, sharing learning, and communicating key policy or practice areas.
  • Ensure good data hygiene and manage all monthly giving operations including acknowledgments, maintaining data to ensure accuracy. Work with our existing database platforms (Salesforce and Deloitte) and other digital tools to manage the monthly giving program.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of data, analytics, and insight.
  • Monitor external markets and continually assesses cross-industry best practices, new innovative channels, business increase revenue.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree required, in a related field (Fundraising, Digital Marketing) and/or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience leading direct marketing-focused or fundraising teams in the development and implementation of targeted multi-channel direct marketing campaigns (specifically via door-to-door, telemarketing, retail, business-to-business) designed to acquire/retain/upgrade donors.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing a monthly-giving program at a non-profit organization, including monthly donor acquisition, through various channels and full management of growth and retention of the current monthly program.
  • Demonstrable strategic planning, innovation, optimization, conflict management, collaboration, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Solid business acumen and financial modelling and analysis experience.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, strategic planning and recurring giving acquisitions experience.
  • Experience developing multi-channel marketing programs and strategies using segmentation, trends, and best-practices and predictive modelling data.
  • Demonstrable ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders with a keen sense of diplomacy.
  • Experience with Salesforce, or similar database, or a demonstrated capacity to learn new technology quickly and effectively.
  • Experience marketing direct to consumer or business-to-business in either for profit or not-for-profit.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, leadership, and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to set priorities, demonstrate a positive and adaptive attitude, troubleshoot and problem solve independently using sound judgement.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills; proven experience in managing and mentoring staff.
  • Advance level of proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of Payment Card Industry standards, Blackbaud Luminate Online an asset.
  • Bilingual is an asset.
