About the position:
The Senior Manager is an experienced leader in donor stewardship, gift processing, prospect research and database management who will oversee CFCC’s fundraising operations. Reporting to the Chief Development & Communications Officer (CDCO), the Senior Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Corporate and Community Giving, Director of Philanthropy and Director of Communications to lead, inspire and support the Development and Communications team towards our strategic goals. They may also serve as a member of CFCC’s cross-functional committees.
Responsibilities
Planning, Strategy, Reporting
- Lead and provide administrative oversight in the planning, implementation and improvement of processes, operations and resources within the Development and Communications team.
- Oversee development of policies and procedures, such as database management, donations process, moves management and stewardship guidelines.
- Work with CDCO and Director of Finance on accurate revenue and expense forecasting and tracking progress against fundraising and/or campaign goals while managing monthly and annual gift reconciliation.
- Leverage internal data and external trends and insights to inform CFCC’s fundraising strategy.
- Oversee analytics on various strategies for leveraging donor data to advance the work of the organization, research trends and improve ways of operation.
- Develop and implement a moves management system to track donor engagement and update donor information and activity into Salesforce accurately and comprehensively.
- Assist in preparation and management of Development and Communications revenue and expense budget.
Team & Program Management
- Oversee the gift acceptance process, including gift processing, maintenance of donation records, and tax receipting
- Co-create and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for both revenue and activity, identifying trends, risks and opportunities
- Oversee the execution of gift agreements, pledges, gift acknowledgements and corresponding processes to ensure timely and accurate
- Oversee database functionality to maximize reporting, fundraising results, and effective funnel management.
- In collaboration with the Development and Communications team Directors, oversee development and implementation of a comprehensive donor stewardship and recognition program ensuring donors at all levels are informed of the impact of their philanthropy, recognition and benefits are fulfilled and consistently promotes engagement with donors.
- Work closely with external vendors and consultants, as needed, to resolve technical issues or implement new features.
- Contribute to CFCC’s overall technology and digital transformation strategy; actively collaborating with the IS/IT team on ongoing system integration and process improvements
- Contribute to the development of an equity-focused, community-centric culture of philanthropy at CFCC, including initiatives to diversify CFCC’s donor base
- Play a leadership role in the evolution of CFCC’s culture, and a work environment that is grounded in collaboration, respect, innovation and transparency

Qualifications
Required:
- A post secondary degree in a related field would be an asset
- Over 7 years of relevant work experience
- Proven people leadership and management experience
- Proven leadership experience working in a fundraising environment, ideally including philanthropic operations, gift administration, prospect management and analytics
- Proven expertise with fundraising database management systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Strategic thinker who can activate a plan and see it through to completion.
- Strong financial acumen
- Vendor management experience
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Knowledge of the Canadian charitable sector, including fundraising best practices and emerging trends, and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth
