About the Partnership Strategy department:

The Partnership Strategy team works with leading brands, properties, and nonprofit organizations in Canada to craft impactful data-driven strategies that are aligned with our client’s goals and objectives. With over 27 years of experience in the industry, we have developed multiple proprietary methodologies that help us value, measure and uncover insights that ensure the long-term success of our client’s partnership strategies.

Strategy is a core part of our integrated approach to client work. Our analysts and strategists love to solve problems, analyze data, conduct research, and build solid recommendations to help drive our client’s objectives. They provide inputs into several stages of the agency process, from providing marketing research and analysis to developing sponsorship and strategic partnership recommendations and program valuations.

At T1, a great Sr Advisor, Partnerships, Cause & Purpose should:

Have a passion for the nonprofit and corporate sponsorship industry and a history of working within it. They are responsible for providing research and analysis to support the development of partnership strategies, concepts, and related proposals for our clients in the nonprofit space. The Sr. Specialist is also comfortable in front of clients, has outstanding organizational skills and has an entrepreneurial approach to their work. This candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our team, helping to build new product offerings, and further establishing T1 as a leading agency in the partnership space.

Key Responsibilities:

Client management

– Develop custom strategies and recommendations for our clients based on solid research and insights, develop implementation plans and help our clients execute on our recommendations

– Have a strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and applying this knowledge to our client’s needs. This includes fundraising and revenue generation, corporate partnerships and corporate donor engagement, events (including P2P), and employee engagement

– Be proactive in sourcing industry trends and best practices in the cause space and applying them to our client work

– Serve as the main touchpoint for clients, lead meetings and working sessions, solve issues and advance our business

– Develop strong relationships with our clients and act as the bridge between strategy team and the client services team

– Continuously push the bar, go above and beyond for our clients, and bring creative solutions to the challenges our clients are facing

Research and Insights

– Identify, source (first -and third -party data) and analyze pertinent information for the development of partnership strategies and client recommendations

– Ability to propose creative problem-solving ideas that are grounded in insight

– Develop and maintain a knowledge base of relevant sector intelligence and trends, including research methodologies, evolving technologies, donor, and consumer behaviors, etc.

Leadership

– Support project-based teams responsible for developing partnership strategy plans, proposals, and RFP responses

– Develop and manage project timelines, ensure high quality of project deliverables and ensure timely project status reporting to relevant stakeholders

– Support the partnership team working under condensed timelines, develop and lead multiple projects at the same time while delivering the highest quality of work possible

Experience and skills:

– Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a sponsorship, corporate partnership, or development role in the nonprofit space

– Understanding of the nonprofit sector, fundraising and revenue generation, and event landscape

– Experience with fundraising technology, 3rd party fundraising platforms and alternative channels considered an asset

– Excellent analytical skills and ability to extract actionable insights from data

– Exceptional communication and presentation skills

– Outstanding time management and organizational skills

– Strong software/computer skills:

  • Experience with syndicated research platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel/Numbers, including pivot tables
  • Ability to create impactful presentations in PowerPoint/Keynote
