
Stewardship Officer (Contract)

The Stewardship Officer is responsible for assisting in the successful development and implementation of programs that acknowledge, appropriately recognize, and demonstrate accountability for the support received from The Royal Conservatory’s donors and sponsors. Responsibilities include the management of programs and execution of tactics that will further nurture strong and long-lasting relationships with RCM supporters.
The Stewardship Officer provides direct support to the Development team, senior staff, donors and volunteers, to ensure outstanding service. Activities include donor signage and acknowledgement in various materials, donor wall and signage; the execution of donor stewardship and recognition benefits; reporting on the impact of donor support; and donor recognition events. The Stewardship Officer supports the development of relationships with donors and volunteers in order to further the mission and vision of The Conservatory and the strategic direction of the Development team.

JOB DETAILS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures all donors receive timely and appropriate stewardship for their giving, supporting the goals and initiatives of the Conservatory and the Development team
- Tracks and monitors the fulfillment of deliverables as outlined in donor agreements
- Assists with the production of donor walls, signage and plaquing projects to ensure they are on-time, on-budget and in adherence with recognition program guidelines
- Helps to manage the stewardship reporting process, collaborating on content development, editing and report production
- Collaborates on the administration of the scholarship program and stewardship of scholarship supporters
- Manages and ensures the accuracy of donor recognition in print and electronic/online donor listings
- Plans and executes certain donor recognition events including tours, receptions, dedications, and plaque/signage unveilings in collaboration with the Manager, Fundraising and Stewardship Events and senior Development staff
- Strategizes with senior Development staff on stewardship plans for existing donors or prospects
- Assists Development staff with designing, implementing and delivering recognition and benefits for other specific donor groups and societies
- Remains abreast of best practices in the field with respect to Stewardship
- Performs other duties as required
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the field of stewardship, donor relations and/or major gifts
- Experience working with donors, volunteers, and senior staff
- Excellent listening, communication, writing and presentation skills
- Strong relationship building skills, excellent analytical, research and organizational skills
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Able to take initiative to manage multiple projects, resources and initiatives in a deadline driven environment with changing priorities
- Able to think strategically and creatively solve problems
- Sound judgement, tact, diplomacy, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality are essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Raiser’s Edge is required
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Standard office environment and regular hours, with early morning, evening and weekend work required on occasion
- Extended periods of sitting and PC use
- Extended periods of standing when attending events
- Although this is not a remote position, a period of remote or hybrid work is likely based on existing Provincial restrictions relevant to COVID-19
