Strategic Lead (Donor Insights)

This strategic lead position is a key member of our Strategic Solutions team, working alongside a team of fundraisers delivering insights and strategy to a wide range of Canadian and US not for profits. A core part of this role will be to developing donor insights from Affinity Survey data. This role requires a strategic thinker, you will be expected to take insights and translate them into fundraising recommendations, propositions, strategy, to support the development of program and product offers for areas including monthly giving, tribute, mid-level and legacy.
ROLE OBJECTIVE:
To support the development of elevated insight driven strategy for our clients by analyzing and translating donor insights into actionable strategic fundraising recommendations.
MUST HAVES
•Minimum 3 years working in a fundraising environment – agency or charity OR a research and insights role with a knowledge of direct marketing and the desire to learn about the sector.
•Experience of working with surveys – from question design to data analytics
•Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Bi Skills
•Ability to analyze data, create graphs to show key findings and develop a narrative to present insights in a compelling way
•Ability to summarize and condense information.
•Detail-oriented.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to take initiative and work independently, while still collaborating and being a team player
•Excellent and proactive verbal and written communication skills
•Strong computer software ability in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams and Adobe Acrobat
•Positive outlook and works collaboratively, striving to meet team goals
ASSETS
•Not a requirement, but we consider past agency experience working directly with clients an asset for this role.
•Demonstrable experience in translating data insights into strategy – survey insights would be preferable but not essential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work alongside the Director of Strategic Solutions and the VP of insights on the design, delivery, and analysis of Affinity Survey products.
•Development of strategic recommendations that supports the application of the insight to fundraising programs.
•Presentation of survey findings both in person and virtually
•Producing summary decks of survey insight to show high level insight for various audiences.
•Support on application based strategic solutions projects as allocated including propositions, strategic direction, product development, donor journey development.
•Collaboration with the Client Relationships and Planning team to deliver strategic solutions projects.
•Collaborate with team members across departments in the agency – Insights, Planning, Client Relationships, Digital, Operations and Marketing.

Salary Range: The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 (full potential ranges up to $90,000) commensurate with experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision care, 3 weeks’ vacation plus an additional 9.5 Blakely days off (half day Fridays before each long weekend and the office is closed for one week at the end of December each year).
Location: This is a location flexible position. The successful candidate will be able to choose where they do their day-to-day work either from home or the Blakely office, located in Aurora, ON. This position can also be fully remote and is considered remote if you live more than 150 kilometers from the Blakely office. Maintaining a good working relationship is key to success, for non-remote workers, there will be a requirement to come into the office occasionally for meetings and meet in person with clients as the role requires. For remote workers, there will be a requirement to come to the Blakely office for in-person meetings approximately 6 times per calendar year and occasional travel for in person client meetings dependent on the client and Blakely needs, with reimbursement for travel based on Blakely’s policy.
