JDRF is a remote-first workplace so the VP, Development may be located anywhere in Canada and will work from a home-office.
While remaining on JDRF’s SLT, the previous incumbent has transitioned to lead our Philanthropy/ Leadership Giving (restricted revenue) team and so this position has recently become available. These two roles work closely together to facilitate the integration of leadership and planned giving at the field (regional) level, with the VP, Development providing leadership to all direct reports in support of the overall strategy.
The VP, Development will seek to maximize our revenue growth, audience reach, and ensure the overall sustainability of the foundation. Our ideal candidate for this opportunity will have at least 10 years of fundraising experience in relevant programs and portfolios, including at least 5 years in a senior level position. The incumbent should have experience managing large-scale fundraising initiatives involving significant revenue targets and budget implications, involving diverse stakeholder groups. They will also need to have a joy and enthusiasm for being a front-facing fundraiser, as they will have a portfolio of high-level donors and prospects themself.
There is a large staff team reporting directly and indirectly to this role, so strong management, coaching, and relationship-building skills are a must. We want the individual in this role to continue fostering collaboration and the culture of appreciation we have worked hard to achieve. The Development team has cross-functional relationships across JDRF, so a demonstrated ability to lead and implement organizational change, gain buy-in and consensus will be important.
