Breaking Bread & Raising Dough (At Home)
Sasha Manes
Sasha began her fundraising career at United Way of Greater Toronto where she managed the city-wide student fundraising campaigns. Her Master of Education in Community Development from OISE, U of T, combined with a passion for connecting the good someone wants to do with the good that needs to be done, led her to fundraising roles at the Barbra Schlifer Clinic, the Ontario NDP, and to help establish two mental health not-for-profit organizations from the ground up.
For the past eight years, Sasha has worked for YWCA Toronto, first as the Manager of Events and Sponsorships and now as the Manager of Major Gifts and Stewardship.
In 2017, Sasha received AFP Toronto’s Outstanding New Fundraising Professional Award, an honor given to a fundraising professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievement early in her career.
Sasha currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors, the VP of Marketing and Communications, and Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee at AFP Toronto, along with roles on the committees for Directorship and the Outstanding New Fundraising Professional Awards.
She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Rwanda Survivors Foundation, former Board Member for the Bishops University Foundation and Co-Chair of the External Equity Committee at her child’s school.
