John is a fundraising strategist and consultant with over a decade of experience supporting small and medium-sized non-profits and charities across sectors including international development, STEM, community development, newcomer integration, youth empowerment, and food security.
He has helped organizations raise millions of dollars from government, foundation, corporate, and individual donors, with clients including Inner City Outreach, the Toronto Centre of Learning & Development, and Building Roots.
As a workshop facilitator, John delivers practical, accessible training on grant writing and fundraising strategy. His sessions help participants identify the right funding opportunities, assess their fit, and craft compelling proposals. He guides organizations in articulating their value, using data effectively, and understanding what funders look for in a strong application.
John is also an Associate Consultant with JN Clarke Consulting, a Toronto-based firm that supports non-profits in building government relationships and securing public funding.

2 – Grant Questions & Proposal Writing -July 22nd – 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST
Dive into key proposal questions and how to answer them effectively. We’ll unpack how to align with funder priorities, communicate your impact, and use AI tools to strengthen clarity and tone. Practice exercises will help reinforce real-world writing techniques.
3 – Budget Building & Project Framing – July 29th – 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST
Focus on developing realistic, funder-friendly budgets and aligning them with your narrative. Learn how to justify costs, frame your project scope, and avoid common pitfalls. Includes guided practice building or refining a budget draft.
