Description of the Position:
The Associate Director, Leadership & Legacy Giving, is a key part of the team at SickKids Foundation. The leader will develop and execute a comprehensive plan to engage and grow the mid-level donor segment and secure support for SickKids. They will have accountability for direct donor relationship management and work collaboratively to develop integrated campaigns and communications plans to drive revenue growth. In addition to managing a portfolio of new and existing donors, they will collaborate with colleagues across the Foundation to advance opportunities to drive revenue and generate a pipeline for the organization. This portfolio continues to grow, evolve, and plays a critical role in supporting the long-term strategic objectives of SickKids Foundation.
The Associate Director will oversee and provide leadership to a team responsible for delivering $5M+ in annual revenue. They will coach and mentor the team to support their individual growth and progression; while building a culture that is reflective of SickKids Foundation.
You will:
- In partnership with the Director and cross-functional colleagues, develop the annual plan and implementation roadmap for the Leadership & Legacy Giving segment
- Directly manage a portfolio of 100-150 donors with annual gift revenue in the range of $5,000 – $100,000
- Lead the business planning process for the Leadership & Legacy Giving segment as part of the broader planning process, including development of revenue and expense forecasts
- In collaborating with the marketing team, lead the strategic development of the marketing and communications plan for Leadership & Legacy Giving donors, driving solicitation, retention and migration and integrate with legacy giving plans to ensure a holistic donor experience
- Build an acquisition program for Leadership & Legacy Giving donors to continue to drive pipeline development across the organization
- Complete donor calls and visits to cultivate, steward and provide ongoing relationship management to donors
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Marketing, Business Intelligence, Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships, Stewardship and Donor Relations to integrate learning opportunities, marketing campaigns and donor strategies
- Lead the team of fundraisers supporting their needs and the strategic needs of the portfolio
Required Skills
Qualifications:
While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:
- 6 – 8 years relevant experience in 1:1 fundraising or leadership giving/mid-level giving donor programs
- Strong business, data and financial acumen
- Experience with results tracking, analysis and budget control reporting
- Proven track record as a skilled leader who motivates high-performing teams, which may consist of peers and external stakeholders as well as direct reports
- Knowledge or experience within the Not-for-Profit environment will be considered an asset
- Ability to build new and long-term relationships with prospects and donors
- Ability to articulate the importance of pediatric healthcare in its three facets: clinical, education and research
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task
- Go-getter attitude, a team player mentality and the ability to build relationships
- Creative, resourceful and cost-conscious mindset
- Superior verbal, written and storytelling skills
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow through

Total Compensation Package:
Hiring Salary Range: $98,314.00 – $122,892.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $141,326.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate Director, Leadership & Legacy Giving.
