Employment Type: fulltime

Crescent School has been a leader in boys’ education since 1913. Located on a beautiful, 37-acre campus in mid-Toronto, Crescent School has 800 students in Grades 3 through 12.

The School’s mission, Men of Character from Boys of Promise, enables each student to reach the full potential of his unique abilities. Character development drives everything the School does. Crescent School is committed to mentoring and relational learning – which bring out the best in boys – and instilling core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and compassion. The School nurtures wellbeing while cultivating excellence in academics, arts, athletics, business, outreach, and robotics.

Reporting to the Headmaster, the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) leads the strategic process by which the School advances its mission-appropriate constituent relations through integrating the School’s enrolment, fundraising, marketing and communications, and alumni programs. Working closely with the Board of Governors and its committees, the CAO moves the School toward achieving its vision. In addition, the incumbent creates opportunities to engage with Crescent community members through friend-raising, fundraising, and community outreach initiatives and builds resources for current and future generations of Crescent students and alumni.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and skilled fundraiser, having led annual and capital campaigns in a sophisticated and highly collegial environment. Known for building deep and long-term relationships, candidates should demonstrate a track record of working with a range of community members such as donors, volunteers, parents, past parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and students. The CAO will have experience as a team leader, showcase superb communication skills, and embrace Crescent’s values.

Consideration of candidates will begin in late September 2022 and the new Chief Advancement Officer will take office in January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
