Reporting to the Director, Donor Experience, the Development Officer, Events & Donor Experience will work with a dynamic team to deliver a robust stewardship program. The Development Officer, Events & Donor Experience supports in building excellence through the planning, supporting, executing, and oversight of logistical requirements for events and high-touch meetings in their portfolio, with a focus on stewardship, cultivation, and governance activities.
The Development Officer, Events & Donor Experience has a high degree of thoughtfulness required to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in a high-pressure, high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing deadlines. The Development Officer, Events & Donor Experience is responsible for overseeing costs, handling complex situations and applying Sinai Health Foundation’s policies and processes to the events they are leading.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Acts as the event lead for a portfolio of events, including oversight of project management, logistics, communications, programming and measuring successes/outcomes
- Develops and implements strategies to highlight donor impact throughout events and stewardship activities
- Works collaboratively within the Donor Experience and Communications team and with many stakeholders over multiple teams to ensure a seamless process and project management of a portfolio of activities
- Track and analyze all event expenses and program data to assess performance and derive insights for ongoing improvement
- Provides outstanding service to all stakeholders ensuring the highest standard of experience for event attendees, including timely pre and post event follow up
- Acts as a business partner, supporting internal colleagues with donor stewardship activities including: brainstorming, strategizing, execution and tracking
- Liaises with vendors, suppliers, donors and other affiliated groups and individuals as needed with service excellence always top of mind
- Attends meetings with donors, volunteers and event leaders as required
- Works with the Donor Experience and Communications team to contribute to planning and supporting large-scale projects that require additional resources
- This role will require some evening and weekend work as needed for events.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent related experience, preferably within a large dynamic non-for-profit environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or another relational database
- An ability to project and track an expense budget while keeping savings top of mind; demonstrated financial acumen
- An innovative, creative thinking person with the ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature
- Ability to be assertive while respectful in managing expectations of a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to find innovative solutions with limited time
- Self-starter with a bias for action; solutions oriented; has the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work while handling multiple tasks and interruptions
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision

Sinai Health Foundation is a hybrid workplace, located in downtown Toronto. Currently, all employees are in-office on Tuesdays for the Foundation’s “anchor day”, as well as approximately 24 additional in-person corporate meetings, events or activities annually. Additional in-person requirements vary by team and job function. Our Workplace Flexibility policy is reviewed on a bi-annual basis to ensure the current state of hybrid work is meeting our organizational needs.
The salary range for this role is $62,749 to $78,436 annually.
