Location: South Georgian Bay (Collingwood), Ontario
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent (hybrid location)
Salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year (based on 40 hours/week)

About the ECA:

The Escarpment Corridor Alliance (ECA) was founded in 2022 to address the increasing habitat and green space fragmentation of the Niagara Escarpment of South Georgian Bay. The ECA is now a regionally focused  conservation land trust with a holistic approach that aims to balance people and nature.

Position Summary:
ECA is seeking an experienced fundraising and communications professional to co-lead fundraising with the Executive Director and lead marketing and communications activities.

Reports To: Executive Director

Direct Reports: Marketing & Communications Manager, Social Media Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leading, executing, and monitoring an integrated communications program to provide donor stewardship and support revenue generation in annual giving, events, major gifts, legacy giving and the land securement campaign
  • Assisting the Executive Director with organizing the major donor program
  • Reviewing and executing a best in class donor stewardship program
  • Co-leading the design of the annual fundraising strategy, major campaigns and case for support creation with the Executive Director
  • Overseeing all programs other than major giving, including budget management and the identification of new revenue streams within these portfolios
  • Oversee donation administration led by the Operations & Finance Manager (OFM)
  • Oversee the fundraising CRM database with the support of the OFM
  • Plan and execute at least one major annual fundraising event
  • Lead the creation of the Annual Report and annual Community Update event each spring
  • Managing and mentoring direct reports
  • Maintaining good relations with donors, volunteers, team members and other not for profit organizations.

 

Minor Responsibilities:

  • Annually establishing measurable goals with direct reports and monitoring and mentoring those reports throughout the year to the successful completion of the established goals
  • Regular check-ins with direct reports bi-monthly
  • Supporting the Director of Conservation as needed
  • Support education and community events
  • Support the Board of Directors with fundraising and communications

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, marketing, communications and/or sales or 10 years equivalent experience in a management position within one or more of these disciplines
  • Demonstrated direct involvement (leadership preferred) with annual fundraising achievements of $1 million+ gross revenue
  • Experience leading the organization and execution of fundraising events
  • Experience development and managing donor stewardship programs
  • CFRE or in the process of working towards Canadian Fundraising Executive
  • Four years minimum of working for a registered charity in Canada
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and mentor direct reports
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Very creative
  • Project management experience
  • Empathetic team player who believes deeply in the mission & vision.
