Salary Range: 60000 to 80000 Please note: This range reflects the expected compensation for the candidates who meets the stated qualifications. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices.


Education and experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, health communications, or a related field required. Experience with donor stewardship, grant writing, sponsorship development, campaign management, newsletters, website content, annual reports, and healthcare or patient advocacy communications is preferred.

Opportunity: The Canadian Myeloma Research Group is seeking a Fundraising & Communications Manager to help strengthen donor engagement, grow fundraising opportunities, and communicate the organization’s research impact to donors, partners, patients, and the broader community. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership to support strategic campaigns, stewardship, sponsorships, grants, events, and compelling communications that advance CMRG’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead donor engagement, donor stewardship, and fundraising campaign execution.
  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer to facilitate strategic donor engagement with prospects.
  • Write donor communications, including thank-you letters, donor updates, annual requests, and stewardship materials.
  • Manage donor upgrade opportunities, including moving single-gift donors toward recurring or monthly giving.
  • Support the development and growth of the organization’s legacy giving program.
  • Coordinate sponsorship outreach, grant pipeline activities, and partner communications.
  • Develop newsletters, website updates, annual report content, campaign messaging, and stewardship materials.
  • Translate clinical trial, registry, and biobank impact into clear messages for donors and partners.
  • Support community engagement, patient-facing communications, and organizational storytelling.
  • Work with leadership and program teams to align communications with strategic priorities and funding needs.
  • Communicate organizational impact, research updates, donor stories, patient resources, and upcoming events.
  • Manage social media channels by planning content, maintaining a consistent posting schedule, monitoring engagement, and promoting campaigns, events, and educational initiatives.
  • Coordinate major organizational events, including the Annual Scientific Meeting and Gala, by supporting planning, speaker and sponsor coordination, promotion, logistics, registration, and post-event follow-up.

Travel requirement: Occasional travel for donor meetings, community events, fundraising activities, partner meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
