The Manger, Community Partnerships is part of a dynamic team of fundraisers working with community fundraisers, raising net proceeds for priority areas of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). As the Manager, you will oversee the SickKids Foundation Do-It-Yourself (DIY) fundraising platform (SickKids Go Fundraise) and develop strategies for renewal, retention, stewardship, growth and expansion of the DIY program. You will refine current donor journeys and tools associated with the platform to optimize revenue growth and expand the portfolio of DIY events and campaigns. In addition to the duties associated with the DIY platform, you will manage a small portfolio of Community Partnerships (Third Party Events). As the primary relationship manager you will develop, cultivate, and steward supporters to continued success and growth.

This position reports directly to the Associate Director, Community Partnerships.

In this role you will:

  • Provide ongoing oversight and maintenance of the DIY platform, including the annual refresh of fundraising tools and use of data insights to augment and optimize platform and donor engagement
  • Develop and implement marketing and growth strategies for the DIY segment
  • Design retention strategies for the DIY segment to renew events from one-time to annual
  • Oversee the annual advertising campaign, with Brand Strategy, to grow the base of DIY event organizers
  • Work with and provide coaching to Associate, Community Partnerships, on the onboarding and relationship management of DIY fundraisers
  • Initiate, maintain and grow relationships with donors, community event organizers and other charitable partners
  • Provide enhanced relationship management and strategic thinking to extend and grow fundraising efforts for large event donors (typically raising $50,000 or more each year)
  • Develop annual strategic business and financial plans for their portfolio
  • Develop compelling proposals to drive long-term gift agreements and secure annual commitment to SickKids Foundation
  • As needed work cross functional with Gift Administration, Activation, Marketing, Public Relations, Research, Proposal development and Stewardship
  • Cultivate effective relationships within the hospital to support program alignment, proposal development, volunteer opportunities, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
  • Identify opportunities to grow and retain existing business through strategic development and execution of individual and departmental initiatives
  • Participate in the planning, analysis and strategy of the Community Partnerships team including providing input into team processes, plan administration, system and program implementation and follow up of event funds

Qualifications

While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management or another related field
  • Exceptional fundraising and Relationship Management skills with minimum 5 years of direct fundraising experience, preferably in third party event fundraising
  • Knowledge of and use of fundraising platforms like Fundraising, Convio/Team Raiser, or other online fundraising platforms
  • Knowledgeable of Blackbaud products, like Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud CRM
  • Knowledgeable of Canada Revenue Agency receipting guidelines
  • Able to understand and respond to various levels of expectations from diverse stakeholders
  • Experienced with volunteer management
  • Strong project management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing and changing priorities
  • Superior written and oral communication
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills
  • Someone who has displayed sound decision-making and judgment.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Someone who has demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365
  • Ability to drive initiatives, be resourceful, creative and flexible
  • Drivers license and/or access to a car will be considered an asset

Total Compensation Package:

Hiring Salary Range: $82,064.00 – $100,017.50; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $117,971.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Manager, Community Partnerships. Hours: 35-hour work week with a hybrid schedule (3 days remote, 2 days on-site). Flexible work options are available.
