Description of the Position:
The Manager will act as a key member of the newly created Leadership & Legacy Giving team to develop, manage, and grow our sustainable revenue from donors who annually give $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 by incorporating multi-year asks and legacy giving plans; they will also be responsible for the relationship management of a donor portfolio. Experience working closely with/or knowledge of the Canadian-Chinese community will also be an asset within this role. In addition to the main focus of relationship management, the Manager will support and guide the overall donor journey by contributing to the communications strategy and portfolio analysis.
The Manager, Leadership & Legacy Giving reports to the Associate Director, Leadership & Legacy Giving.
You will:
- Manage a portfolio of Leadership & Legacy Giving donors with the capacity to make a gift of $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 annually, while building multi-year asks and legacy giving plans
- Complete donor calls to cultivate, solicit, steward and provide ongoing relationship management of donors
- Develop written donor proposals, engaging Foundation and Hospital for Sick Children stakeholders where necessary
- Support and integrate strategies for securing recurring revenue from donor base and cultivating increased support (Moves Management) while integrating legacy giving strategies
- Develop a network of contacts interested in advancing the mission and success of SickKids Foundation and The Hospital for Sick Children
- Work closely with supporters from the Chinese-Canadian community to engage at the Leadership Giving level
- Leverage programs being led across the Foundation to engage diverse donor communities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation (Marketing, Development, Business Intelligence and Information Technology, Operations) to advance donor relationships
Qualifications:
While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:
- Certificate or bachelor’s degree, with a focus in fundraising, marketing, sales, business or other applicable disciplines
- 5+ years experience in fundraising
- 3+ years of experience in direct fundraising, business development, or sales within Chinese and East Asian communities
- Knowledge of the Chinese-Canadian community and experience working with donors, organizations, corporations, local leaders
- Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin will be considered a strong asset
- Track record of soliciting and closing gifts at the $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 level, with the ability to build new and long-term relationships
- Capability to analyze, interpret data, and build strategic recommendations and action plans
- Experience with customer retention management systems and data management systems (e.g. Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)
- Gift Planning experience will be considered an asset
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task
- Creative, resourceful, cost-efficient and intuitively driven
- The ability to think strategically and work independently, but also a team player
- Superior verbal, written and storytelling skills
- Organized, detailed oriented, with strong follow through

Total Compensation Package:
Hiring Salary Range: $81,251.00 – $101,566.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $116,803.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Manager, Leadership & Legacy Giving.
