The Role:
As the Manager, New Business Development, you will play a key role in building and maintaining a robust pipeline of corporate and foundation supporters. You will re-engage lapsed connections, cultivate new partnerships, and support corporate, cause, and event fundraising portfolios. By preparing compelling proposals, networking at industry events, and aligning efforts with organizational priorities, you will drive Second Harvest’s development strategies to new heights.
Your Impact:
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to build and manage a dynamic pipeline of prospects.
- Develop strategies and refine SOPs to re-engage lapsed donors and secure new partnerships.
- Lead training sessions for team members on updated business development strategies and best practices.
- Conduct in-depth research on potential donors, identifying alignment with our mission and programs.
- Support revenue targets by engaging new and renewed partnerships, delivering on contractual obligations.
- Work with Marketing, Communications, and Programs teams to align business development efforts with public messaging.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential partners, showcasing the value of partnering with Second Harvest.
- Drive prospect generation through networking, speaking engagements, and participation in industry events.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify risks and opportunities for growth.
- Maintain accurate donor records and analyze fundraising outcomes to inform future strategies.
- Represent Second Harvest at signature events, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
Who You Are:
- Passionate: Energized by Second Harvest’s mission to eliminate food waste and hunger.
- Partnership Manager: Proven experience managing corporate relationships in for-profit or non-profit sectors.
- Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior executives.
- Entrepreneurial: Proactive in identifying and acting on new opportunities to drive business growth.
- Analytical: Uses data to drive decision-making and enhance program performance.
- Organized: Skilled in project management and meeting deadlines in dynamic environments.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in CRM systems, with experience in Raiser’s Edge as an asset.
