The Opportunity
As a key member of the Philanthropy team, the Philanthropy Coordinator, Individual Giving will provide critical administrative support the team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, Individual Giving, the incumbent will coordinate donor/prospect activities to support the team’s revenue goals and KPIs.
Core Deliverables
- Supports the Philanthropy team by assisting with moves management and maintaining donor records including updating donor information, call reports, cultivation and solicitation activities.
- Organizes and coordinates activities related to philanthropy portfolios such as meetings,
tours, and other events.
- Provides administrative support for working groups and volunteer committees (e.g., pulling and maintaining prospect lists, taking meeting minutes, assisting with research profiles, and preparing briefing notes).
- Supports the development of materials such as proposals, presentations, reports, and acknowledgment letters.
- Responds to donor, sponsor, partner, and volunteer requests as required.
- Provides administrative support on database reports and analytics.
- Acts as back up for Foundation administrative support (e.g., answers phone inquiries and makes stewardship calls).
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Post-secondary education with knowledge of fundraising, marketing and/or business administration considered an asset.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a fundraising or business environment; demonstrated experience working with donors and volunteers considered an asset.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior organization and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to be flexible and prioritize a diverse workload, as needed.
- Demonstrated proactive working approach, high degree of initiative, and a learning mindset.
- Professionalism and patience when communicating with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with fundraising database software considered an asset.
- Availability to work outside of normal business hours on occasion.
- Flexibility to assist with assignments and work outside of core job description.
Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000. Eligibility for merit pay and comprehensive benefits including Healthcare Ontario Pension Plan enrollment.
