United Way Greater Toronto is currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Proposals & Impact Writing to join our team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fundable Opportunities, Proposals and Impact the Manager, Corporate Proposals & Impact Writing will lead the creation of compelling, donor-centered communications tailored specifically for corporate audiences. This role develops high quality funding proposals, grant applications, pitch decks, sales materials, and impactful stewardship reports that demonstrate value and drive investment from companies and corporate foundations. The writer will produce strategic fundraising materials that strengthen existing corporate relationships, engage new prospects, and support UWGT’s overall corporate revenue growth.
How you will make a difference:
  • Develop cultivation and solicitation materials for corporate prospects and donors with the capacity and affinity to give $50k+ – including customized funding proposals, grant applications, pitch decks, one pagers, and other persuasive collateral—to support UWGT’s mission priorities and corporate fundraising goals.
  • Lead the development of standardized corporate reporting templates and stewardship frameworks that elevate the narrative of partnership, integrating impact data, employee engagement outcomes, and strategic alignment with corporate ESG priorities.
  • Ensure reporting consistently fulfills commitments made in funding proposals and gift agreements,Manager, Corporate Proposals & Impact Writing   ensuring UWGT’s accountability and building donor confidence.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of corporate writing projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective prioritization, and proactive communication with internal partners.
  • Collaborate with United Way Centraides across Canada to create compelling national proposals, stewardship reports, and partnership materials tailored to corporate donors.
  • Build and deepen understanding of existing and new corporate donor community investment goals, funding priorities, and brand voice, and apply these insights to solicitations, impact reports, and other donor resources.
  • Work closely with corporate fundraisers to translate relationship history, donor conversations and strategic opportunities into tailored solicitations, partnership pitches and impact reports.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Donor Experience team to co-design and deliver compelling recognition, engagement, and storytelling assets that elevate donor experiences and strengthen corporate relationships.
  • Liaise with staff across Donor Relations and Marketing, Finance, Community Investment, Communications, and Operations teams to gather data, impact stories, metrics, and insights for use in corporate materials.
  • Review and apply UWGT’s program monitoring, reporting, and evaluation practices to corporate solicitations and stewardship materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and impact.
  • Provide writing, editing, and proofreading support for content from the Corporate Donor Relations team maintaining consistency with UWGT’s brand standards and equity principles.
  • Contribute to a centralized resource repository of past corporate proposals, impact reports, case statements, story banks, and other donor communication tools.
  • Monitor trends and best practices in corporate philanthropy, ESG/CSR reporting, and impact storytelling, and provide subject matter expertise on corporate reporting preferences and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate across departments—including Marketing and Donor Experience and Communications—on special projects and organizational initiatives requiring clear, compelling corporate-focused writing.
  • Produce polished donor materials using Canva, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word to ensure proposals, reports, and collateral are visually compelling and brand aligned.
What you bring to the role:
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate writing, proposal development, corporate communications, fundraising writing, marketing communications, or related fields, with demonstrated ability to craft persuasive content for corporate audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience translating corporate ERG, ESG, and DEI priorities into compelling proposals and impact reports.
  • Strong initiative, problem solving abilities, and project management skills, with the capacity to manage a portfolio of writing projects independently from concept to delivery with minimal support.
  • Commitment to advancing UWGT’s Reconciliation and Equity framework, including the ability to incorporate anti-oppressive and antiracist principles into written materials.
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented approach, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to gather information and shape compelling corporate-facing content.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex social issues, community impact data, and program information into clear, accessible, and compelling language for corporate stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI principles (privacy, transparency, fairness, and accountability) and ability to apply them in nonprofit contexts involving donor, client, and community data.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, organization, and time management, with a track record of producing accurate, high-quality deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, enabling respectful, inclusive, and effective partnership with diverse colleagues and subject matter experts.
  • Basic design and formatting skills, with experience using Canva, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and/or InDesign considered a strong asset for producing polished corporate materials.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar fundraising CRM platforms is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed to meet deadlines or support key corporate engagement activities.
  • Willingness to actively contribute to the implementation of the organizational Reconciliation and Equity framework, learning opportunities and anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally.
