Position Status: Permanent Full-Time

Description of the Position:

Reporting to the Director of Segment Marketing, the Associate Director, Event Marketing leads the working team accountable for all peer-to-peer events (digital and in person) and all aspects of conversion and participant journey marketing for special events. The Associate Director will oversee all aspects including ideation, governance, planning, and end-to-end program execution, with a focus on delivering optimal participant experiences that maximize revenue.

You will:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive event marketing plans for all mass audience Peer-to-Peer Events and all aspects of conversion and participant journey marketing for Special Events, including KPIs, budgets, timelines, program briefs, and financial modelling required for annual business planning
  • Identify and capitalize on new mass audience event opportunities, leading the business case development in partnership with Director and colleagues to ensure net revenue and cost per dollar goals are met
  • Develop and execute the campaign briefing and execution processes, inclusive of creative, all media, participant and donor journeys, data and analytics, and ecommerce
  • Grow share of the current event marketing revenue stream by implementing and executing strategies and plans to acquire and retain event participants through a variety of marketing channels
  • Develop marketing strategy and KPIs for automated journeys that engage, cultivate and convert event participants with the goals of delivering seamless experiences and sustainable revenue
  • Lead and coordinate project management of all mass audience marketing events ensuring deadlines are met and issues are resolved effectively
  • Manage and evaluate key agency and vendor relationships, including developing contracts, evaluating performance and ensuring budget compliance
  • Lead a team of event marketing professionals providing guidance and coaching, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
  • Develop and grow collaborative relationships within SickKids to achieve program alignment, efficient program execution, support data quality and capture, and deliver post campaign analyses
  • Drive operational efficiencies through project management and process development, ensuring seamless mass audience event marketing campaign design and execution
  • Champion a positive organizational culture and serve as an advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Maintain a public-facing leadership role in the Peer-to-Peer space through attendance and presentations at professional conferences, contributions to professional affiliations, and participating in industry working groups

Qualifications:

While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • Undergraduate degree or related education combined with a career marked by progression and success
  • 6-8 years relevant experience as an exceptional marketer (with a focus on P2P events and marketing events an asset) with proven experience of developing programs and campaigns that have driven results
  • Proven track record as a skilled leader who motivates high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to identify strategic business development opportunities and develop/lead such initiatives
  • Strong business & financial acumen with advanced analytical and financial modeling experience, and proven expertise in P & L management and building business plans
  • Experience with and understanding of customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Expertise building customer lifecycle strategies from acquisition to retention, and developing associated communication journeys
  • Experience leading and developing end-to-end marketing campaigns and programs (with a focus on marketing events)
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with and guiding agency partners
  • Superior communication skills in addition to well-developed presentation abilities
  • Exceptional database, analytical and reporting skills
  • Technical skills include proficiency with Microsoft 365, marketing automation, CRM databases, digital fundraising platforms and solutions

Total Compensation Package:

Hiring Salary Range: $98,314.00 – $122,892.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $141,326.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate Director, Event Marketing.
