CORPORATE AND FOUNDATIONS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (12 Month Maternity Leave with the Possibility of Extension)

In this role, you’ll support the values and mission of Easter Seals Ontario by cultivating and securing corporate and foundation partnerships, engaging donors and sponsors, and enhancing our overall fundraising efforts to drive long-term philanthropic support.
Easter Seals Ontario is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Corporate and Foundations Development Officer to support and enhance our corporate and foundation fundraising initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying, researching, and cultivating meaningful relationships with corporate and foundation partners to secure both immediate and long-term philanthropic support.
Working closely with the Development Team and cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Program and Services, and Finance—the Corporate and Foundations Development Officer will play a key role in advancing Easter Seals Ontario’s fundraising strategy. This position will focus on prospect identification, pipeline management, and stewardship to strengthen corporate and foundation partnerships, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects to support the organization’s fundraising goals.
- Conduct research to identify new corporate and foundation funding opportunities and develop targeted engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to draft compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor solicitation materials.
- Lead prospect identification activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to develop tailored engagement and solicitation plans.
- Work closely with volunteers, board members, and other stakeholders to leverage their networks in securing corporate and foundation gifts.
- Support the Development and Communications teams in designing and producing donor-focused marketing and communications materials.
- Ensure timely and accurate data management, tracking donor interactions, contributions, and key metrics in Raiser’s Edge (RE7).
- Develop and implement stewardship strategies to maintain and strengthen relationships with corporate and foundation donors.
- Monitor trends in corporate philanthropy and the nonprofit sector to identify new funding opportunities and industry developments.
- Assist in the development and execution of corporate sponsorship opportunities for events, ensuring alignment with corporate interests.
- Represent Easter Seals Ontario at corporate and foundation meetings, conferences, and networking events to cultivate donor relationships.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in a related field or equivalent experience in fundraising.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in corporate and/or foundation fundraising, with a proven track record of securing gifts of $5,000+.
- Knowledge of CRA charitable guidelines, AFP Code of Ethics, and emerging trends in corporate philanthropy, including CSR initiatives and employee giving programs.
- Strong proposal development and grant writing skills, with experience preparing corporate sponsorship and donation packages.
- Experience managing corporate engagement programs, event sponsorships, and cause marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency in donor database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge (RE7), and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a donor-centered approach to fundraising.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience and contacts within the philanthropic community in the GTA are considered an asset.
Working Conditions & Hours
- Flexible hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 to 3 days in the Provincial Office (occasional evening and weekend work required).
- Successful completion of a Police Background Check required.
Location: Toronto, Ontario.
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000
