Manager, Fundraising and Communications
Over 100 years of changing lives through camp
At Camp Scugog, we create joy, confidence, and connection for children and families who need it most, one camper at a time.
Camp Scugog has been providing transformative camp experiences for over a century. We exist to ignite potential and nurture positive outcomes for children and families facing socioeconomic barriers. Here, nature isn’t just a setting, it’s the catalyst for confidence, connection, and community.
About the Job
Camp Scugog is an inclusive and supportive community that believes socioeconomic challenges should never be a barrier to growth or access to the outdoors.
Our thriving community includes:
- Our overnight Summer Camp, supporting children, youth, and families that face socioeconomic barriers through personal growth, connection, and joy—one camper at a time.
- Our Nature School, offering enrichment day programming that encourages children to deepen their relationship with the Earth through curiosity, experiential learning, and child-led outdoor play.
- Our Leadership Centre, providing tailored programs to cultivate student leaders through outdoor education, personal development, and team-building.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on fundraising and communications leader to help drive our mission forward. The Manager, Fundraising and Communications leads all aspects of Camp Scugog’s fundraising and external communications strategy and execution.
In the first year, this role reports to the Outgoing Executive Director. Beginning next year, it will report directly to the Board of Directors.
This is a remote-first position, with occasional in-person expectations for team retreats, major events, or visits to camp. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to shape strategy and directly manage activities across all fundraising streams—including major gifts, annual giving, grants, donor stewardship, and events—while also leading the organization’s digital and brand presence.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a relationship-builder, a compelling storyteller, and a self-starter who’s excited to make a meaningful impact while rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
