Position Summary
Centennial College is hiring a dynamic Manager of Fundraising Operations! Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for leading the daily business operations for the Office of Development. The manager will play a pivotal role in managing essential business processes across the department, focusing on the Donor Funded Scholarship and Award Program, Gift Administration and Donor Stewardship.
Through collaborative efforts with Student Financial Services, Student Records and IT, the Manager, Fundraising Operations will lead the successful adoption and ongoing management of an online Awards Management System and will support the strategic use of the Raiser’s Edge Fundraising and CRM System.
As an integral part of the management team, the incumbent will work collaboratively with staff and leadership to support the successful achievement of fundraising, donor relations and stewardship goals and targets.
Responsibilities
- Manages timelines for yearly scholarship cycles and the overall scholarship, bursary and awards processes.
- Manages the disbursement of all scholarships, awards, and bursaries that fall under the Office of Development in collaboration with the Finance and Admin Officer, the Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer, Scholarships and Bursaries Officer, and Student Financial Services.
- Manages the scholarship gift agreement and all internal processes.
- Collaborates with the Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer and the Fundraising Database Administrator to manage and review training documentation, and assist with training when needed for the online scholarship program.
- Establishes, monitors, maintains, and tracks Business Processes that support Gift Administration, Awards Management, Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) and Donor Stewardship.
- Provides leadership and support to the Fundraising Database and Gift Administrator to leverage the utilization of Raiser’s Edge Fundraising and CRM System.
- Provides leadership and support to the Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer to ensure effective donor relations and stewardship activities for the Office of Development.
- Works with the Project Management Office, Executive Director and external vendors to lead the adoption, implementation and training for the Awards Management online system.
- Liaise with online vendors such as Blackbaud, ThankView, etc.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team to ensure the student scholarships website is updated, dynamic, and user-friendly; may also assist with any enhancements and/or improvements of the websites and social media.
- Supports the promotion of the scholarship program through all media channels, and brainstorms new and creative ways to market financial aid opportunities to students throughout the year.
Qualifications/Experience
- 4-year degree/diploma in Fundraising, Business, Marketing, or another related field or an equivalent
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of experience managing donations, business processes, scholarships, and/or bursaries, specifically in a post-secondary, not-for profit, charitable, or other public institution.
- Previous experience working with stakeholders and partners of all levels, including students, donors, faculty, and Academic administration (ex. Deans, Associate Deans, etc.).
- Previous experience working with an Awards Management or similar online platform preferred.
- In-depth understanding and commitment of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated experience using Raiser’s Edge and Excel.
- Ability to think analytically and problem-solve, demonstrating ethical practice and good judgement in decision-making.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task with tight deadlines.
