Baycrest Foundation, the dedicated fundraising arm of one of the world’s premier academic health sciences centres focused on aging and brain health, is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Development Officer (CDO). This is an extraordinary opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare innovation, research, and care for older adults through philanthropy that transforms lives.
Reporting to the President & CEO of the Baycrest Foundation, the Chief Development Officer will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with Baycrest’s bold vision. The CDO will oversee a high-performing development team, manage a diverse donor portfolio, and drive significant philanthropic initiatives, including major capital campaigns. With a focus on multi-million-dollar gifts, the CDO will cultivate and steward transformative relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutions while championing a donor-centric, transparent, and outcomes-oriented culture.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, inspiring, and strategic fundraising leader with a proven track record in securing six to nine figure gifts and leading major campaigns. The ideal candidate will have advanced interpersonal and communication skills, a natural ability to build trust and motivate teams, and a commitment to innovation and excellence in donor engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare and community impact and thrives in complex environments such as academic or healthcare institutions. Experience working with boards, leading high-performing teams, and engaging diverse stakeholders is essential. A background in healthcare or nonprofit leadership and familiarity with CRA charitable regulations are strong assets.
