Established in 1982, PMCF has been setting daring and audacious goals with a mindset that is driven by our culture and passion for the cause. We have pioneered many successful fundraising programs, including our world-leading Princess Margaret Home Lottery, and some of the world’s largest peer-to-peer cancer fundraising events, and have sophisticated Estates & Gift Planning and Major & Transformational Gifts programs. This is a particularly exciting time to join PMCF as we plan a historic, comprehensive fundraising campaign for The Princess Margaret.

We are seeking an experienced, ambitious and forward-thinking fundraising professional to lead major gift fundraising in support of the Breast and Gynecologic Cancer site groups at The Princess Margaret, as well as other portfolios as assigned. Reporting to the Vice President, Major & Transformational Giving, the Senior Director, Major Gifts will work collaboratively with colleagues and medical leadership to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, foundations and corporations who are capable of making gifts at the $50,000+ level, with a strategic focus on gifts of $1,000,000 or more.

With superb relationship management skills and a deep commitment to stewardship, the Senior Director will strengthen relationships with prospects, donors, senior volunteers, clinicians, researchers and other Cancer Centre partners. They will be trusted for their professionalism, and for their ability to secure significant gifts while maintaining the integrity and high standards that have come to be expected by donors, senior volunteers, and Cancer Centre staff.

The Senior Director will provide leadership to a talented team of two direct reports, including a Senior Development Officer and a Development Associate. They will be an effective coach, partner and resource for their staff and other colleagues, helping devise, impart and execute strategies that will inspire both present and future major giving. They will serve as a designated lead, internal champion and resource for their fundraising portfolios at the Foundation. We are seeking an equity-focused candidate who brings both lived and learned experience to philanthropy, supporting the diverse communities we serve.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Director will focus their time, attention, and efforts in the following areas:

• Help recruit, manage, coach and support major gift fundraising volunteers in all aspects of prospect engagement, including solicitation
• Support cross-functional fundraising opportunities, including through collaboration with the Community & Corporate Partnerships, Leadership and Annual Giving teams
