We are currently hiring for the position of:
SENIOR PHILANTHROPY OFFICER
The Senior Philanthropy Officer is a frontline fundraiser responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of major donors contributing $25,000+ annually. This role identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards gifts to achieve annual revenue of $1M+ and build long-term philanthropic partnerships. By executing tailored engagement strategies, proposals, and stewardship plans, the position ensures donors remain connected to TIFF’s mission and programs, advancing both year-round activities and the Festival. This role reports to the Senior Director of Philanthropy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall include but not be limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of up to 75 individual and family foundation donors giving $25,000+, with an annual portfolio revenue target of $1M+.
- Develop and execute donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies tailored to each prospect.
- Partner with the Senior Director, Philanthropy, CBMO, Philanthropy & Partnerships Committee and other internal stakeholders to support major gift fundraising and joint solicitations.
- Create individualized donor engagement plans, proposals, impact reports, and impact updates.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, data integrity, prospect tracking, and Moves Management in Raiser’s Edge.
- Lead campaign initiatives and donor-facing events (Tribute Awards, Beyond the Red Carpet, etc.).
- Contribute to departmental impact reporting and annual reporting to portfolio donors.
- Serve as a liaison with Programming and Events teams to integrate donor engagement with TIFF experiences.
- Maintain strong stewardship practices, ensuring donor benefits are fulfilled and recognition is timely.
- Support pipeline growth by identifying new prospects and upgrading existing relationships
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
- 4 (Senior Manager)
- $75,000 – $90,000 Annually
TARGET CONTRACT DATE:
- January, 2026
WORK LOCATION:
- Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
- Weekly in-office requirements:
- Minimum 2 days (1st November – 30th April)
- Minimum 3 days (1st May – 31st October)
- Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of progressive fundraising, sales, or relationship management experience with demonstrated success securing gifts of $25,000+.
- Proven track record managing a portfolio of 75 -100 donors with $1M+ annual value.
- Familiarity with the Canadian arts and culture landscape.
- Knowledge of major gift strategies, metrics, and Moves Management.
- Strong CRM/database skills (Raiser’s Edge preferred, experience using Opportunities for moves management).
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
- Interest in film and the mission of TIFF.
- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
